The Daggers outline is inspired by Tom Curren so if you were to look at this surfboard from a distance you may mistake it for something you would've surfed in the 80s or early 90's. But up close the dagger is obviously feature heavy and has a technical design that's very modern. It features a really deep double concave and a downturn rail which both work to increase the amount of response the board will have on small waves. As a result of the downturned rail (You may even call it a step deck) Taylor's Dagger holds more volume through the deck of the board than most shortboards. This means that if you order this board custom made from Channel Islands you should order it slightly shorter than your normal short board.
Depending on what surf shop you buy the Dagger at you may be able to get some free gear with it as well. When this surfboard was released Channel Islands worked with Taylor and his sponsors to do a promotion where anyone who buys the Dagger gets a pair of board shorts, headphones and bamboo fins. Some shops aren't involved in this promotion, but some are, so call around before you buy it.
